MEMBERS AND TRUSTEES

Members 

The Members are akin to the shareholders of a company. They have ultimate control over the academy trust, with the ability to appoint some of the trustees and the right to amend the trust's articles of association. They are required to meet annually.

Paul has over 30 years of experience working for a wide range of organisations, which include, the film industry, advertising, print and the public sector. He currently runs a company which specialises in designing and delivering change programmes for clients. He lives and work in South London and is really excited about how schools can make a real positive difference to young people's lives, providing them with the skills and confidence to build fulfilled and exciting futures.

Adrian has been a governor of John Donne Primary School for seven years. He has had many business roles including Station Manager Peckham Rye. Recently, he has worked with Local government delivering telecommunication services. With over eight years experience managing two successful UK startups, he wishes to use his experience to help build a solid educational platform for young Londoners enabling them to launch their chosen vocation or career.

Kevin Rose

Kevin Rose is a parent governor at John Donne Primary School and chair of its Finance, Resource and Audit Committee. He has a daughter in year four and a son in year two. He has been a business and finance journalist for 20 years. He has written for national newspapers and edited trade magazines and websites. He is currently co-owner of a business to business publisher.

Maurice East

Maurice is the Chair of Governors at John Keats Primary School and a property developer and professional landlord with an MA International Politics and Strategic Studies. He has overseen a number of large scale renovation projects which involved putting contracts out to tender, liaising with builders, surveyors, engineers and architects as well as organising and running site operations. He has managed many projects, giving advice on purchasing and renovating residential property.

Evelyn Holdsworth

Evelyn was a headteacher for over 26 years. Evelyn’s expertise is in governance, leadership, academy development and curriculum development. Since Evelyn retired in 2017 she has become a trustee at SELCAT and also vice-chair of Governors at St Tomas More Catholic College in Eltham.

Trustees 

The Trustees are responsible for the same three core governance functions performed by the governing body in a maintained school:

  • Setting the direction
  • Holding the Chief Executive Officer to account
  • Ensuring financial pobity

Alison has worked in Higher Education since 2004 and is current Head of Teacher Education at Goldsmiths, University of London where she oversees the Primary and Secondary Teacher Education Partnership. Prior to this she worked as a teacher and leader in Primary schools in North Wales and London.

Rob Miller

Rob has lived in East Dulwich since 2001 and was a governor at Goose Green Primary School between 2016-2021 (and chair of Governors between 2018 - 2021). Rob works as a director in local government, working with a wide range of public services leaning service improvement and transformation, and his previous career experience includes working in the retail and entertainment industries.

Eileen O'Mahony

Eileen has worked within the IT service industry for over 20 years. She is currently the General Manager for a London-based Software Service Provider. Over the past 20 years she has worked across Europe in a variety of roles delivering consultancy services to and managing large scale and complex IT projects for numerous organisations in the public and private sectors. She regularly speaks at IT conferences and delivers presentations on the ROI of IT investments.

Fleur Nieboer

Trustee and Chair of Finance, Risk & Audit Commitee

Fleur is a chartered accountant and works as a partner in the Public Sector Audit department at KPMG in Canary Wharf. Fleur has a portfolio of internal and external audit clients in the healthcare, education and charity sectors. Fleur qualified in 2002 and has been working at KPMG for the past 15 years. As well as her audit experience she also specialises in providing support and advice to not for profit organisations on their risk management and governance structures. Fleur lives in South East London and is the parent of a son in year four.

Chris Owen

Chris is the Chair of Governors at Childeric Primary School. Chris has Extensive experience in observing teaching and learning and supporting serving teachers and trainees to improve their professional practice through lesson observations, performance management, coaching and professional development.

Dr Yvonne Ndifor

Yvonne joined Challenge Partners as Head of Finance and Operations in July 2018, where she oversees Finance, HR and IT Yvonne is passionate about cross-sector partnerships that enable transformative social change, especially for young people and those from disadvantaged communities. Yvonne is a Chartered Accountant (FCCA), holds a Ph.D in Management from University of Kent-Canterbury and an MBA in Financial Services. Outside work, she enjoys cooking, dancing and travelling.
